Welcome to the Digital Culture Masterclass.
This is a carefully debated list of the best digital media there exists on Earth.
*Movies, TV shows, cartoons, anime, video games, YT videos, websites, articles, documentaries, software, etc.*
The goal is to be able to get the fullest experience of human digital culture in the least time possible, plotting a straight course through the most ideal representations of a certain category of media.
Each piece of media has to fight tooth and nail for its inclusion, competing against not only other amazing content in the same category as them, but also competing for space in this compact list featuring many varied art forms.
The idea is that this list should become a go to reference if you're trying to introduce someone to something you personally enjoy. The prime use case I have in mind is ensuring my own eventual kids have a proper exposure to the full breadth of digital culture, and can distinguish fads from time tested concepts.
This masterclass should offer paths that are able to convert even a non-gamer into the most die hard MMORPG fan, by carefully presenting each of the major aspects of such a piece of media in the package that individually helps the person form an appreciation for them best.
At the end of each path, the person should have a new found understanding of why so many people love X or Y type of media, or sub-genre. They should not be able to dismiss its value anymore, and should be able to relate to, and respect the people dedicated to such an art form.
Humans, as a safety mechanism, have a natural repulsion to what they do not know. Well, our goal here, is to clear any unknowns about digital media, that may make a person averse to it for the sole reason that "it's *probably* not that good", because in fact, *it may very well be that good*.
TL;DR: this is the TOP 10 list to end all TOP 10 lists. Or something like that.
